Trinity superitendent details operational plan

Trinity School District’s new operational plan for the 2010-11 school year includes significant amounts of teacher training to help them use student data, incorporate technology into the classroom, include special education students in the regular classroom, and increase academic rigor.
The plan was created after the school board hired James Manley as a consultant to review the district. Manley issued a report earlier this year examining what Trinity does well and how it can improve.
Paul Kasunich, Trinity’s superintendent who was hired in April, worked with Manley, administrators and teachers to create the operational plan. He will go over the details of the plan publicly at the Aug. 19 school board meeting.
“The operational plan is a starting point,” Kasunich said Friday, adding that it will be assessed throughout the year. “It gives the district a focused direction.”

(it is OnHands School not Hands On School)
In my opinion I think it is great that Trinity has a contract with OnHands School and now is able to implement a new operational plan that appears to be very similar to the detailed initiative developed by OnHands School in helping school districts across the country to focus on the “4 “main goals of President Obama’s “Race to the Top Program”. The Race to the Top four focus areas are and I quote from a link on the OnHands School website:
“Adopting standards and assessments that prepare students to succeed in college and the workplace and to compete in the global economy; Building data systems that measure student growth and success, and inform teachers and principals about how they can improve instructions; Recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining effective teachers and principals, especially where they are needed the most; and Turning around our lowest-achieving schools.”
Hopefully the students will benefit from Trinity’s newly released operational plan.
