As a resident with soon to be school aged children I must say it is embarrassing that Burgettstown didn't meet the AYP. What makes it worse is that they didn't set the bar very high. 56%?
The state sets the percentage of students that must be proficient in math and reading each year. Federal law states that by 2014, 100 percent of students must be proficient.
It's nice that the federal govt. thinks strongly that all students with learning disabilities and mental health issues will be miraculously cured by 2014.
