How much should youth sports pay to use public school athletic facilities?

That issue has come up in the California Area School District. The board approved a policy updating how much an outside group has to pay to use district facilities. Outside groups must pay $1,000 if they charge admission and $750.
But how much should the youth sports pay if they aren't affiliated with the school?

Are those rates for use for a sports season or per event? That seems steep to me. Guess that's why youth little leagues have so many fundraisers? I could see some kind of charge toward maintenance of the grounds, but $1,000? Geez.

It's per game, so it would cost the youth football league $4,000. The superintendent said it was a misunderstanding, that the $750 and $1,000 is what they want to charge outside groups. She's going to recommend to the school board that youth sports pay for custodians, security and utilities.

Aren't the tax dollars we pay already paying the custodians and utilities. That is flawed logic. If the school has a field it should be free for the public who payed for it to use it.
School vouchers, the only way to hold our education system accountable.

At Beth-Center, even other BCHS sports are not permitted to use the football stadium!
