Pennsylvania announced new initiatives Tuesday to prevent childhood obesity and increase physical activity in school.

There is nothing the schools can do if it is not followed through at home.
In addition, schools are practically starving some students with the required reduced lunch portions and are forced to reduce physical activity in order to up the academics for PSSA and other standardized testing.
I can't come up with a solution other than smacking parents upside their heads to pay attention to what their kids do.
Rather than sitting at a desk, they should take their classes walking on a treadmill.

That would be ridiculously expensive... but, hey... it's a suggestion
schools are doing pretty much everything they can.. they cut the food portions in half and still keep jacking up the prices so students have to go back for more. its not the schools fault that some kids are fat..its their own fault for their bad eating habits and lazy behavior.
