Bill Sanders, author of "Chicken Soup for the Teen Soul," was in the area last week, talking to students and parents in Washington, Canon-McMillan and McGuffey. To find out more about his time spent here, visit our Web site.
What do you think of his advice?
I do like his advice, as I've always said from being raised in a household of badgering, belittling, yelling and constant punishment for every little infraction, that I criticize slowly, talk stern, but softly and have always praised my child for everything positive. No matter how small it may seem to you, it's usually a huge deal to your child. I'm may not be parent of the year, but in my child's eyes I am, as any time he's had to write about his favorite person, or his hero for school, he's gone on and on about his mom :)
